So yesterday my bestie and I went for a drive to a rundown old barn in search for some rustic weathered looking barn boards for an upcoming project. The barn was dark dusty, dirty and full of cob webs....yes that means there were spiders present and if any of you know me the slightest bit you know I don’t make friends with spiders and I don’t particularly like being all up in there space, anyways back to the story, as my friends uncle was showing us the stacks and stacks of old lumber, I was having a very hard time keeping up with them because I was distracted by the treasures all around me. The place was littered with old windows, doors with beautiful glass door knobs, old chests, dressers, picture frames, wooden barn doors and yes there was definitely some barn boards to be had. My mind was going a million miles a minute...the projects I could do with all this so called “junk”, I could make it all beautiful again, bring it back to life. Inspired by the story that each piece told, I dreamed of how I could make these pieces shine once again. I not only left with the barn boards I was looking for but also a large old window, picture frame, and weathered looking chest. Although these pieces were soon destined for the junk yard, I seen the beauty each piece held.
